So I went to audition as a featured extra in Unfaithful starring Richard Gere and Diane Lane. We didn’t have to read any lines, the casting director we just looking for people with the right look. I wound up getting booked..Nice!!
The on the day of the shoot I go to extras holding and waited to get called on the set, I was originally booked to play parking lot attendant. When I went to the wardrobe department to get fitted for my part the wardrobe people told me I’ll be playing a wardrobe extra for the scene, I thought it was weird because in the audition they were pretty specific with who they wanted me to play but thing change..it’s the bizz 🙂
When it was time for us to go on set to actually film the scene I walk up with my wardrobe outfit on pulling a clothing rack. One of the AD came up to me and said “Your not in this scene, your Al Cayne!” She continued “Your our parking lot attendant”! I was like I knew I was suppose to be playing a parking lot attendant. I told the AD that wardrobe switch me up to be wardrobe extra. Then I find out that I wasn’t even suppose to be an extra in the first place and I had lines in the movie lol!! But I was never contacted to audition for a speaking part in the movie but I was booked for the part. So that same day I had to run up to casting and audition for a part that I was already booked for just to make sure I knew how to read the lines and the rest is history lol!
It was fun shooting this scene with Diane Lane, she was really cool. I can say Diane Lane threw her keys at me a few times lol!! FYI It wasn’t really raining that day, the production crew brought in a rain making machine. Good times!
